Letter from the Presidents

This is a great novelty!

It’s the first time that our Spring Meeting has a remarkable international feature and it’s the first time we realize it together with another European Society as SFODF. Much more, it’s a success to organize the first MOIP Congress of the Mediterranean Orthodontics Integration Project network, after the efforts of the last two immediate SIDO past-Presidents, Giuseppe Siciliani who had the idea and the constancy to begin this adventure with the Workshop in Cairo, and Alberto Laino who has always believed in the project, despite many difficulties, giving me the responsibility to carry out this important appointment.
The scientific topic, for our SIDO Day on Friday, concerns the efficiency timing in Orthodontics, from child to adult, in order to obtain the maximum in efficiency.
Saturday morning will be dedicated to the MOIP with some of the best speakers of the Mediterranean Countries; finally, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning our French friends will discuss the future of Orthodontics. There will be other interesting Meetings for Dental Technicians, Dental Hygienists and Orthodontic Assistants. All in the beautiful setting of Venice, the Lido, the Excelsior and the Palazzo del Casinò.

Arrivederci a Venezia!

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Two years ago, the Italian SIDO, the French SFODF and the MOIP (gathering all the Orthodontic Societies around the Mediterranean Area) decided to collaborate and organize a joint meeting, where the most advanced orthodontic techniques will be discussed. This great exchange between our countries has culminated into an exceptional Conference to be held on May 8-11, 2008 at the Lido in Venice, certainly one of the most prestigious cities in the world.
For the organization of this First Congress, the French Board has asked Pierre to organize the scientific program in collaboration with our Italian friends.
Each country shall organize its own program, thus «The Future of Orthodontics ». The first part of the French program will begin on Saturday afternoon May 10th, and continue through Sunday morning May 11th.
Together with French Speakers, the program will include keynote speakers from Germany, USA, Italy and France.
The participants will have the opportunity to listen to the presentations in the main Auditorium in English, Italian and French, thanks to the simultaneous translation that will be provided in the three languages represented. Our Society is very excited about this event just like our Italian and Mediterranean colleagues.
Speaking of Social Events, our Gala Dinner on Saturday night, facing the sea, will be an unforgettable event.
We are certain you will participate in great number to this remarkable Meeting.
We look forward, wholeheartedly, to seeing you all in Venice 2008.
